AIM & OBJECTIVES Safety Committees have the potential to create a bottom-up safety culture and communication network. Frequently, these committees fall into disorder and disrepute often being worse than useless by creating expectations that, for whatever reason, are unfilled. Committees succeed or fail on the basis of a number of core issues, including their composition, their terms of reference, management support and, generally, the organisations commitment to health and safety. This course aims to equip participants with the tools necessary to set up a health & safety committee, which will be effective and goal-orientated. WHO SHOULD ATTEND? This course is intended for Health and Safety Officers and Managers, Human Resource or Personnel Officers and Managers, Safety Representatives and anyone who wants to pursue the idea of a Safety Committee. Prospective committee members will also find the course useful. PROGRAMME With this programme participants will learn to: Why have a Safety Committee?
